A very informative read, Cory. Not the usual place for a single female to visit but this is what is most delightful about your travels. You never cease to amaze, as your daring approach uncovers some truly hidden gems: lots of friendly, welcoming people with plenty of scenic green spaces at inexpensive prices along with safe sightseeing for the security conscious and spatially-aware. Love the idea of 792 species of birds to look out for! The air quality may defeat me, though. Still: worth the visit with proper planning, I think! Good work, as usual, Cory. Kudos!

2hat stood out most is how green the city is and like you i thought it was a bit of a slum. Just goes to show as you said forget what is on tv. And go see for yourself. Also what stop out is the departure. Omg. That sounds tedious and very stressful. Wow i have never heard of such drastic scenario at any airport. Its a good thing you were not late for your flight.However from your view sounds and looks like a beautiful place. Thanks for sharing. .

Hmm you go some places ..you are true explorer and a tough cookie.. you are not deterred by whats on news or bad images of any country.You always bring some fresh insight in to many places you see on tv with bad images.
